This chisel is made in Sanjo City, Niigata.
The characteristic of this chisel is that it is made of White steel #2 (shirogami2gou),
The advantage of this steel is that it has both stable sharpness and ease of sharpening.
And there is a very beautiful marble pattern on the front side of the steel, and the cutting edge is striped.
This striped pattern will not disappear even if you sharpen it.
By sharpening this chisel, which is made by stacking steel, a new pattern appears on the cutting edge.
The craftsman who made this chisel is "Yasushi Hanyuu"
He is not as famous as his fellow craftsman, Tasai, but he does a great job.
