Presented for your consideration is this rare antique violin. The student model, 3/4 size violin features a one piece back with an ebony fingerboard, tuning pegs and tailpiece. Through one of the f holes the paper manufacturer label can be seen. It reads "Genuine Jan Kriml Made in Germany " Jan Kriml was a brand name for violins distrubuted by Targ and Dinner of Chicago during the 1940s-50s. The tuning pegs on this violin move with ease and the strings are in good condition. Chin rest is sturdy and secure. The violin appears to be in playable condition. Comes with a bow. The bow has a metal screw and mother of pearl embedded into the frog. It is finished with a small leather pad. Also included with the violin is a hard shell carrying case. This beautiful violin would make a great addition to any musical instrument collection!
Bridge looks to have been replaced at one time and is loose on the body. Hair on the bow needs to be replaced. Violin is solid with no splits. Typical light age wear. The carrying case also shows some light age wear. Overall the violin is in VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Violin alone measures 22" long and 6 1/2" wide at the widest point of the body.
