Vintage Stanley 3/8'' No.40 Everlasting Bevel Edge Paring Chisel

For sale is a  Vintage Stanley 3/8'' No.40 Everlasting Bevel Edge Paring Chisel
in full working order.
The chisel has a bevelled edge blade that is in excellent condition which measures 5 1/4" from
the tip to the start of the handle. The blade has clearly been honed in the past and still has a
bit of an edge to it. I have resisted the temptation to hone it and have given it a light
once over with superfine steel wool and a coat of paste wax to prevent flash rusting. The blade
is made from high quality steel that will take an edge and keep it.
The handle is made from bakelite and has various scuffs, scrapes, dents etc. (see pictures)
consistent with being used in a workshop environment.
There are no owners marks, no
etchings, no rust, no bends etc. There are various hammer marks on the cap of the chisel,
which is made of steel and I believe goes all the way through to the blade (see pictures).
All in all an extremely nice example of a classic Stanley No 40 chisel.
